Hi! I'm Dani
Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. I know the weight of living with pain, and I know how easy it is to feel lost. That’s why I created this space: a compass to help you find direction, strength, and hope again.
All About Me

I am a Registered Nurse with more than a decade of experience and a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach with over two years of coaching practice. But beyond my professional roles, I am also someone who lives with chronic pain.
For many years, I learned how to keep going despite discomfort. I worked full time in the operating room, cared for others, and did my best to ignore the signals my body was sending me. Over time, I was diagnosed with nerve damage and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, something I struggled to fully understand or accept.
In my 30s, my life shifted dramatically. I was hospitalized with bilateral bacterial pneumonia, became septic, and nearly lost my life. I survived, but my body never returned to what it once was. After that experience, my pain intensified and my nervous system felt constantly on edge. What had once been manageable became unpredictable, and I began to feel disconnected from my body and unsure of how to move forward.
When traditional treatments and medications failed to bring lasting relief, I realized I needed to look deeper. I wanted to understand why my body felt stuck and why my pain seemed to have a life of its own. I began studying the nervous system, pain science, and the brain’s role in chronic symptoms, slowly becoming my own test subject in the process.
What I learned gave me hope. Chronic pain is not just about what is happening in the body. It is also shaped by the nervous system and the brain’s protective responses. The most empowering part is that the brain is capable of change. Through neuroplasticity, we can begin to create new patterns, reduce sensitivity, and gently turn down the volume on pain.
Around this same time, I rescued my dog, Jack. I thought I was saving him, but in many ways he was saving me. His health challenges mirrored my own and taught me patience, presence, and compassion. Caring for him reminded me that healing is rarely linear and that progress often shows up in small, meaningful moments.
Today, I integrate my medical background, personal experience, and neuroplasticity informed coaching strategies to support others living with chronic or recurring pain. I understand how exhausting it can be to feel dismissed, overwhelmed by flare ups, and unsure where to turn next.
That understanding is what led me to create The Body’s Pain Compass, LLC, a space designed to help you find direction, rebuild trust in your body, and move toward lasting relief.
